BLOG: Ole Miss men’s basketball coach Andy Kennedy has a new contract thanks to recently hired athletics director Ross Bjork. Bjork released a statement about some of the details surrounding Kennedy’s extension.“Andy and I spent some time together prior to and over the Final Four weekend and reached an agreement to extend the existing contract one year (through the 2014-2015 season) with minor changes to the incentive agreement in light of the additional SEC regular season games,” Bjork said in the release. “I’m looking forward to learning more and watching this program get to the next level. I know that Andy has the passion and has been committing the effort to get Rebel basketball there.”
Kennedy had two years left on a deal that paid him $1.3 million annually. Kennedy just finished his sixth full season at Ole Miss and led the Rebels to a 20-14 record and spot in the Men’s National Invitation Tournament. (April 11, 2012)
