Former Oxford Charger and Northwest Mississippi Community College Ranger Charley Sullivan shined in Alabama’s Southeastern Conference opener on Friday against Arkansas. Sullivan started for the Tide and lasted 5.1 innings before giving way to five other pitchers in Alabama’s 4-3 loss in 12 innings.
Against the top team in the SEC West, Sullivan allowed one run on four hits and three walks in 5.1 innings. He also struck out four. On the season, Sullivan is 2-2 with a 3.07 ERA. In 29.1 innings of work, Sullivan has struck out 18 and walked just seven. (March 19, 2012, Page 9)
