Ole Miss’ sophomore shortstop entered the Houston series with a batting average south of .200, but against Cougar pitchers on Sunday, he had a breakout day by going 3-for-5 with a double, a triple and three runs scored.
“That was big because he hasn’t been swinging it well. He just was very aggressive the whole day and swung it well,” Ole Miss coach Mike Bianco said. “He swung it today like we know he can and be the guy we hope he’ll be the rest of the year.”
Anderson admitted his successful day was a big relief. And a long time coming. (March 12, 2012, Page 1B)
