Two runs in the second inning were all Oxford needed to sneak past the Saltillo Tigers 2-1 on Tuesday.
Shortstop Luke Gibbs had the team’s lone RBI, while designated hitter Sam Hunter and right fielder Kade Metts each scored the Chargers’ runs.
Junior right-hander Steven Whitfield (4-1) earned the complete-game win for Oxford (10-7 overall), scattering eight hits and two walks over seven innings.
