The Oxford Middle School baseball team improved to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in the Tri-Lakes Conference by blanking Water Valley 12-0 and 4-0 in a doubleheader on Saturday.
In game one, Tag Gatlin improved to 1-0 by pitching a complete-game (three innings) for the Chargers while striking out four without allowing a hit.
Gatlin was also 3-for-3 at the plate with an RBI.
Sage Mullins (2-for-3, RBI, two runs scored), Jason Barber (2-for-3, 3 RBIs, two runs scored, double) and Will Christian (2-for-3, 3 RBIs, run scored, double) also had multiple hits in the game.
Jack Turner (1-for-2, RBI, run scored, double), Dee Fair (1-for-2, RBI, run scored), Korbin Harmon (1-for-2, run scored) Houston Roth (1-for-2, RBI, run scored) and Bryce Hertl (1-for-3, run scored) also had hits in the game.
In the second game, Roth, Carson Stinnnett and Hertl combined to throw another no-hitter.
Roth had five strikeouts in two innings to pickup the win, while Stinnett and Hertl each had three strikeouts in one inning of work apiece.
Preston Perkins (1-for-2, RBI, double, run scored), Christopher Sandroni (1-for-1, run scored, stolen base) and Jack Clemons (1-for-2, RBI) each had hits for the Chargers in the second win.
OMS returns to the diamond today to host South Panola.
Game one is set for 5 p.m.
OMS and Water Valley are scheduled to meet again Thursday at Oxford.
