After taking two of three at Alabama, the No. 16 Ole Miss Rebels return to the diamond tonight to host Jackson State.
First pitch is set for 6:30.
Ole Miss (17-7 overall) topped JSU (16-7) 13-1 in their makeup game on Feb 29.
Right-handed freshman Josh Laxer earned the win what was his first collegiate start.
Senior designated hitter Zach Kirksey led the team offensively with a 2-for-3 day at the plate that included five RBIs, a walk and a three-run homer.
JSU enters tonight’s game fresh off of a road series win at Florida A&M.
Kendall Logan leads the Tigers with a .386 batting average. He also has eight home runs and 28 RBIs.
Starting for the first time this season will be Chris Ellis.
The freshman right-hander is 1-0 with a 3.86 ERA in 11.2 innings of work.
Ellis has also struck out nine and walked three. (March 27, 2012, Page 10)
