Two middle school baseball games didn’t end up going in favor of the Lafayette Commodores on Monday night. LMS lost 9-4 and 7-4 in a Tri-Lakes Conference doubleheader played in Grenada. Luke Gossett paced the offense in both games. He was 1-for-2 with three RBIs in the first contest and 1-for-2 with two RBIs in the second game. Mack Bishop recorded three strikeouts in the first contest, while Chipper Nix came on relief and pitched well in the second game. He finished with four strikeouts overall. Lafayette (0-3-1) will return to action Thursday at home against Water Valley at 5 p.m. (March 20, 2012, Page 6)
