Tuesday night’s District 2-4A softball game between Lafayette and North Pontotoc boiled down to mistakes made by the Lady Commodores and timely hits turned in by the Lady Vikings.
North Pontotoc overcame a 4-3 deficit by scoring three runs in the top of the fourth inning and blanking LHS the rest of the way to post an 8-4 win at LHS.
The Lady Vikings (18-2 overall, 2-0 in division play) scored the decisive three runs on three hits and an LHS error. NPHS then tacked on single runs in the sixth and seventh innings with a timely hit and an LHS error in each frame.
LHS coach Katie Moore thought it was a competitive game that ended up being decided by North Pontotoc’s offense. (March 28, 2012, Page 7)
