LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Zach Kirksey continued to swing a big bat, belting two of the No. 12 Ole Miss Rebels’ three home runs in an 18-8 win over Louisville at Patterson Stadium Wednesday afternoon.
One of Kirksey’s two homers was a grand slam. He finished with five RBIs in the victory that allowed the Rebels to earn a split with the Cardinals, who won the first game of the two-game set Tuesday.
Lead-off hitter Tanner Mathis had one of the most productive days to set up the high-scoring affair, going 5-for-7 with three runs scored and an RBI. (March 15, 2012, Page 6)
