NEW ORLEANS — Mississippi State’s bubble has seemingly burst thanks to a team of Bulldogs from the East.
The No. 6 seed Mississippi State Bulldogs lost 71-61 to No. 11 seed Georgia in the first round of the Southeastern Conference Men’s Basketball Tournament Thursday night in the New Orleans Arena.
It was the second time this year that Georgia beat MSU, and while the first loss stung, the second served as a likely knockout blow for MSU in its attempt to make the NCAA Tournament field of 68.
Georgia (15-16 overall) outplayed MSU (21-11) all night long. (March 9, 2012, Page 7A)
