Freeze, coaching staff sign “Rebels Unite” wall

BLOG — New Ole Miss football coach Hugh Freeze and his coaches may have been off from leading the Rebels through practice Wednesday but it didn’t stop them from being seen around Oxford.Freeze and his staff stopped by the Oxford apparel company Rebel Rags to sign the “Rebel Fans Unite for Ole Miss” wall. Terry Warren, the store’s owner and operator, got the idea to create the wall late last fall after he saw the Rebels take on Auburn in football. Over 400 people had signed the wall prior to Ole Miss’ Homecoming game with Louisiana Tech the second weekend in November and the number has only increased from that point as fans try to come together and form a new era in Ole Miss athletics.

“The University of Mississippi is a big place, but our fan base is Ole Miss Rebels. That’s what we need to become and we need to stay that way,” Warren said on why he created the wall during an interview on Nov. 9, 2011.

Former Ole Miss quarterback Archie Manning urged fans to unite and come together last week during the hiring announcement of new AD Ross Bjork, while other spirit and fan groups have been focusing on the Ole Miss fan base uniting.

Here are pictures of Freeze and his staff signing the wall. Freeze wrote #wintheday on his portion of the business signifying his mantra of the team showing improvement every single day.
