The Lafayette Middle School Commodores swept a pair of baseball games from Marshall Academy on Monday night.
LMS won the first game 11-1 and then rallied from a four-run deficit in the second to post a 5-4 win. Mack Bishop earned the win in the first contest by striking out six and also contributing a single and an RBI at the plate. Chipper Nix had a double and two RBIs, Tate Russell had a single and two RBIs, Reed Robinson adeed a single and two RBIs on sacrifice flys, while Rashaun Rockette garnered a single and an RBI. In the second game, the Commodores entered down 4-0 and ended up winning when Dequan Johnson scored on a passed ball.
Johnson contributed a double and two RBIs, while Brelyn Hudgins had a single and RBI. Lafayette returns to action Thursday at home against Grenada with a doubleheader starting at 5 p.m. (March 27, 2012, Page 12)
