NEW HOPE — It was good to be an Oxford Charger or a family member of a Charger midway through Friday night’s Division 2-5A baseball game with New Hope. With the Chargers up 7-3 in the top of the fourth inning following a towering three-run home run by Parker Adamson, everything felt good for the Chargers in the dugout.
Unfortunately for the Chargers, the good feelings didn’t last long as the Trojans rallied in the bottom half of the inning by scoring two runs and then finally overcame the deficit by scoring two runs in each of the fifth and sixth innings.
Friday’s 9-7 setback for the Chargers (9-7 overall, 0-2 Division 2-5A) was the second in a row to the to Trojans (13-4) in division play and very similar to the loss at OHS last Tuesday in that the Chargers could not hold a lead and couldn’t get the timely hit late in the game to secure a victory.
