Richland’s almost three hour drive north didn’t go as planned as the Oxford Chargers won Tuesday’s tennis match 6-1.
Oxford’s Ann Marie Edlin dominated her opponent, Abbie Macouy, in girls singles with a 6-0, 6-0 win.
At No. 1 doubles, Robert Nance and Andrew Mullen beat Joshua Brunson and Kris Leggett 6-0, 6-2. At No. 2 boys doubles, Quinn Elliott and Will Swindoll defeated Chris Monroe and Tyler Houston 6-2, 6-1.
The No. 1 girls doubles team of Kara Rose and Sarah Nash blanked Morgan Lawrence and Reagan Dougay 6-0, 6-0, while the No. 2 girls doubles team of McClellan Davis and Emily Domke defeated Ashley White and Ciera Hughes 6-1, 6-0.
The mixed doubles team of Judson Watson and Cari Hansen earned the sixth win with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Nick Robertson and Levian Luu.
Richland’s lone win came at boys singles when Marcus Creese beat Baxter Elliott 6-1, 6-0.
Oxford will return to action Thursday at home against New Albany at 4 p.m. (March 28, 2012, Page 7)
