Shooting at Willow Knoll

The Oxford School District was put on alert Tuesday afternoon after a reported shooting took place at 12:46 p.m. at Willow Knoll public housing complex on East Jackson Avenue.
According to Oxford Police Chief Mike Martin, a man was shot in the knee at Willow Knoll by two men who fled the area in a vehicle. The suspects are described as one white and one black man. Martin said the schools were put on high alert until it was deemed the two suspects were no longer in the area.
The school were not locked down during the incident.
No arrests have been made. Martin said the victim, who was taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi, said he knew one of the suspects.
The victims injury did not appear to be life-threatening and was a clean shot through the knee, Martin said. (March 6, 2012)
