Before Oxford’s new BMX bike track can be used, the Mississippi Department of Transportation, which helped fund the project, requires that the entire track be covered in permanent grass to prevent erosion. A BMX track special contractor would then come in to build five jumps to make the track suitable for tournaments and BMX-sanctioned events. (March 1, 2012, Page 1)
