Rebels get athletic against Tigers

The No. 16 Ole Miss Diamond Rebels saved their best effort for last on Tuesday at Oxford-University Stadium.

After laying dormant for the previous four innings, the Rebels came to life in the bottom of the eighth, scoring five runs on six singles to claim a 7-2 victory over Memphis.

Freshman center fielder Auston Bousfield led off the inning with a single to right field and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by junior second baseman Alex Yarbrough.

Sacrificing the three-hole hitter worked out for the Rebels as senior designated hitter Matt Snyder then scored Bousfield, the go-ahead run, from second on a single to right field. (February 29, 2012, Page 7)
