Lifeless and looking for a spark. That’s the best way to describe how the Ole Miss Rebels played in the first half of their game with Auburn at C.M. “Tad” Smith Coliseum Saturday night and what they needed to remedy the problem.
On the verge of letting another sub-par shooting performance take its toll in the loss column, the Rebels snatched a win from the jaws of defeat thanks to the heroic efforts of junior Murphy Holloway and some timely shooting from some players that had been lacking confidence.
Down 39-28 with 15:29 left in the game, Holloway busted loose for the Rebels by scoring 12 straight points over the next four minutes to give the Rebels a 40-39 lead. (February 13, 2012, Page 1B)
