Eleven of the 16 varsity sports teams at Lafayette were honored recently by the MHSAA for outstanding work in the classroom. The annual Scholar-Athlete Team Award from the MHSAA were given to baseball, girls basketball, cheerleading, boys and girls cross country, girls powerlifting, boys and girls soccer, softball, tennis and volleyball. To be eligible for the award, teams must have a 3.0 grade point average of higher. (February 16, 2012, Page 7)
