Lady Rebels rally falls short against UA

There were plenty of times Thursday evening the Ole Miss women’s basketball team looked lost.

Against Alabama, the Lady Rebels floundered bad enough that at one point they trailed the Southeastern Conference’s last-place team by as many as 18 points after turning the ball over 19 times and allowing the visitors to cash in with 20 second-chance points.

Then, in the second half, a switch was flipped and with four freshmen and one sophomore on the court, the Lady Rebels reeled off 19 unanswered points to pull ahead briefly 42-40.

In the end, however, it was once again young mistakes that allowed Alabama to claim a 52-47 victory at C.M. “Tad” Smith Coliseum. (February 10, 2012, Page 7A)
