Lady Commodores advance to Jackson

BLOG — PONTOTOC — Cinderella is still dancing in the MHSAA’s Class 4A North Half tournament. The overachieving Lafayette Lady Commodores advanced to play for the upcoming state championship in 4A Friday night by earning another impressive win in the Pontotoc High gym.The Lady Commodores, who came into the playoffs as the No. 4 seed out out Division 2-4A, defeated division foe Senatobia 58-52 to ensure at least another two games, with one coming in Jackson at the Mississippi Coliseum at the end of the month. LHS (15-13 overall) won its second game in as many nights Friday by jumping out to an early lead and by holding off a late rally by Senatobia to advance.
