The MHSAA’s Class 5A North Half tournament for girls basketball will begin play Friday in the Oxford High gym. The first game of the night will be Center Hill against last year’s 5A champion and winners of 57 straight games, Jackson Lanier, at 6 p.m. Oxford’s Lady Chargers, who enter the North Half tournament with a 29-0 overall record, will take on Canton in the nightcap at 7:30. The winners of both games will then meet for the championship on Saturday at 7. Tickets for both nights are $8. State passes are accepted for entry. (February 16, 2012, Page 7)
