ITTA BENA — The Water Valley Blue Devils ran into a buzzsaw in the first round of the MHSAA Class 3A playoffs Tuesday.
Aided by missed shots by both sides, the Blue Devils and host Leflore County were neck-and-neck for much of the first half.
In the third quarter of Leflore County’s 58-38 victory, however, the Tigers got off and running and the Blue Devils were unable to keep up with their taller opponent.
Water Valley coach John Sherman credited the Tigers’ all-around effort for the lopsided victory. (February 15, 2012, Page 7)
