Ole Miss’ final recruiting weekend before National Signing Day on Wednesday netted three new football verbal commitments for the 2012 signing class and one for 2013.
Athlete Quintavius Burdette (5-foot-19, 185-pounds, 4.5 seconds in the 40-yard dash: Senatobia), wide receiver Cody Core (6-3, 175; Auburn, Ala.) and place-kicker Andy Pappanastos (5-11, 170; Montgomery, Ala.) all visited Oxford this past weekend and all three made a pledge to be Rebels.
Junior offensive tackle Davion Johnson (6-4, 315; Byhalia) attended Ole Miss’ invite-only Junior Day held Saturday and ended up making a verbal pledge for the 2013 class.
Burdette, who had been committed to Arkansas State since the summer, was very excited about the chance to play for the Rebels and coach Hugh Freeze. (January 30, 2012, Page 1B)
