BLOG: Led by Pontotoc native Diamber Johnson, the Mississippi State Lady Bulldogs pushed their winning streak against Ole Miss to four games Thursday night with a 51-46 victory.
Johnson had a game-high 21 points in the victory with no shot bigger than the 3-pointer coming off of a screen with 1:27 remaining that put MSU (12-6 overall, 2-3 SEC) ahead 51-43.
Valencia McFarland and Nikki Byrd led Ole Miss (12-7, 2-3) in scoring with 14 and 12 points respectively.
After trailing for much of the first half, Ole Miss pulled ahead of Mississippi State 24-23 on a 1-for-2 performance at the free throw line by freshman Tia Faleru with 8.5 seconds remaining in the frame.
Ole Miss will return to action Sunday, hosting Georgia at 2 p.m.
