Four days after challenging her team to play with better toughness for 40 minutes, Renee Ladner’s Lady Rebels played Florida down to the final buzzer.
Unfortunately for Ole Miss, it’s improved effort wasn’t enough to up-end Florida at home Thursday night and the Lady Rebels eventually lost 59-55.
Following Ole Miss’ loss to LSU on Sunday, Ladner questioned her team’s toughness and challenged her team to not only rebound better but also take better care of the ball on offense.
It appeared her team heard her loud and clear as they out-rebounded Florida 43-37 and shooting an improved 38.1 percent from the floor.
It was the first time in 12 games that Florida had been out-rebounded. (January 6, 2012, Page 7A)
