Holloway’s return sparks Rebs in win

Things couldn’t have gone much better for Ole Miss coach Andy Kennedy Wednesday night. Not only did he get to witness his daughter, Meagan, perform a great rendition of the National Anthem at the start of the Rebels’ matchup with Arkansas at C.M. “Tad” Smith Coliseum, he was able to watch Murphy Holloway play for the first time since Dec. 21.

Holloway followed up Meagan Kennedy’s fantastic singing with some fantastic play of his own. Not only did Holloway finish with 19 points and 14 rebounds in the 71-63 win for the Rebels, the team played harder than they have in several games with Holloway on the court. Simply put: Holloway is the reason the Rebels are now 1-1 in the Southeastern Conference as opposed to 0-2. (January 12, 2012, Page 6)
