Chargers fall to Baldwyn

An early 10-0 deficit proved too much for the Oxford Chargers to overcome Tuesday night as they lost 62-58 to Baldwyn. Oxford fell to 12-5 with the road loss.

Romeo Johnson led the Chargers with 26 points. Justin Fondren had 12 points, while Luke Gibbs scored 10.

Oxford’s ninth-grade boys team also lost, 55-47, to Baldwyn. Michael McGhee led the 7-3 Chargers with 14 points. Oxford’s two varsity teams return to action Friday at home against New Hope to begin division play.

The doubleheader in the OHS gym begins at 6 p.m. (January 4, 2012, Page 7)
