The following action was taken relative to executive session.
Litigation Matters
Ms. Byars made a motion to give the School Board Attorney settlement authority up to $85,000 to settle HD vs. OSD subject to an acceptable settlement agreement and release. Ms. Reed seconded. Votes cast for the motion: Ms. Reed; Ms. Barksdale; Ms. Byars. Votes cast against the motion: Dr. Chain; Mr. Tosh. Motion carries 3:2.
What the Article fails to report: Looks like it cost the Oxford School District a considerable amount more than the original MDE Hearing Officer decision to dismiss!
Why would they pay, if they did’t violate this childs FAPE under IDEA!
