OMS boys split at Pontotoc

Oxford’s middle school boys basketball teams split at Pontotoc on Thursday, with the eighth graders claiming a 34-18 victory, while the seventh-grade squad lost 30-18.

Christopher Sandroni scored five points for the elder Chargers (7-0 overall) and coach Marlon Bell credited KeMichael Coleman and Stone Threlkeld with “good all-around games.”

Jarkel Joiner led the seventh-grade team (5-1) with 14 points, while Preston Perkins also had a “good all-around game.”

The OMS boys will be back on the hardwood on Tuesday at Coldwater. (December 2, 2011, Page 7A)
