The Oxford boys hoops teams took two from Senatobia on Friday night with the ninth-grade squad claiming a 33-30 win, while the varsity out-scored the Warriors 30-19 in the fourth quarter to win 92-82.
Glenn Anderson led the ninth graders (6-0 overall) with eight points.
Justin Fondren had 38 points and 15 rebounds in the varsity’s win, while Romeo Johnson and Nick Brown chipped in 20 and 14 points respectively.
The varsity’s win boosts the Chargers’ record to 9-2.
Both teams will hit the road this week to partake in the 2011 Jaguar Classic hosted by Spain Park (Ala.).
On Tuesday, the ninth graders face Homewood (Ala.) at 3:45 p.m., while the varsity squares off against Hewitt-Trussville (Ala). (December 19, 2011, Page 7)
