The Oxford ninth-grade boys and junior varsity boys basketball teams swept Pontotoc at home on Thursday. The ninth-grade Chargers won 55-27, while the JV took a 57-26 victory.
K.T. McCollins and Michael McGhee led the ninth-grade team (3-0 overall) in scoring with 13 points apiece, while Ty Madkins and Darryl King led the JV (1-0) with 14 and 10 points respectively.
The ninth-grade will be back in action tonight, hosting Tupelo at 5.
Oxford’s varsity squads will also host Tupelo tonight, beginning at 6. (December 2, 2011, Page 7A)
