Wednesday’s game against Central Michigan proved to be a frustrating one for Ole Miss women’s basketball coach Renee Ladner.
Despite opening the game on a 9-0 run, pushing their lead to as many as 14 points and never trailing during regulation, the Lady Rebels fell in overtime to Central Michigan 78-75. Central Michigan (4-5 overall) began its run late in the second half, finishing regulation on a 19-8 run, and Crystal Bradford’s free throw with 2:40 remaining in overtime put the Chippewas ahead for the first time.
Central Michigan eventually extended its lead to 75-68 and despite seven points in the final 16 seconds from sophomore Valencia McFarland, the Lady Rebels were unable to regain the lead. (December 15, 2011, Page 7)
