Freeze not deterred by uphill battle

Newly appointed Ole Miss head football coach Hugh Freeze realizes his staff is at a disadvantage and already behind the eight ball with regard to recruiting.

National Signing Day is just six weeks away and while most programs are looking to round out their 25-player signing classes, the Rebels are still trying to get a grasp of where Ole Miss stands with the 10 players currently committed.

The NCAA’s no contact, or dead period, has started and only adds to the Rebels’ disadvantage until the new year starts.

Nonetheless, the Rebels have wasted no time hitting the recruiting trail in an attempt to overcome the obstacles facing them. (December 20, 2011, Page 4B)
