Former Ole Miss assistant baseball coach arrested in child sex sting

BLOG: Rob Francis, a former Ole Miss assistant baseball coach from 2008-10, was arrested Tuesday in a child sex sting.

According to a report on the Orlando Sentinel website, Francis, the current baseball coach at St. Petersburg College, was arrested after driving to Orlando to have sex with a 14-year-old girl.

Francis allegedly sent nude photographs of himself to an undercover deputy posing as an under-age girl in an internet chat room.

Francis is charged with two felony charges of obscene communication and transition of harmful material to a minor via an electronic device and is being held on $5,150 bond at the Orange County Jail.

Francis spent the 2008 and 2009 seasons as the Director of Operations before transitioning into the position of volunteer assistant coach in 2010.

Francis was hired at St. Petersburg College in September 2010. (December 7, 2011)
