Five Rangers to play in all-star game

Former Oxford High standouts La’Derrick Anderson and wide receiver Deante Smith are two of the five Northwest Mississippi Community College Rangers who will be playing in the MACJC All-Star Football Classic.

The 38th annual game will be played Saturday at 1 p.m. at NECC in Booneville.

Joining Anderson, a defensive back and Smith, a wide receiver, on the roster from NWCC are wide receiver Darryl Kinkle, safety Bakari Trotter and defensive back Dex Herrington.

The players will represent the North in the game. (December 1, 2011, Page 7)
