Classic a time to reflect for local standouts

BILOXI — The outcome of Saturday’s Bernard Blackwell Football Classic didn’t favor the North’s squad but that didn’t dampen the weekend.

Utilizing a smothering defense and an offense that made plays when needed, the South cruised to a 37-10 victory over the North squad in the 63rd edition of the all-star game.

Nonetheless, the area’s four players didn’t focus on the loss at Biloxi High’s field. Instead, Lafayette’s Tyler Jackson, Jamel Dennis and D.Q. Reynolds, as well as Water Valley’s C.J. Jackson, focused on the weekend that was and what lies ahead. (December 19, 2011, Page 6)
