Team USA experience helps OM’s McFarland

At 5-foot-3, she looked the same physically. And while running drills, McFarland was as nimble as ever.

What stood out, however, was her socks.

While McFarland wore the usual red-and-blue jersey and shorts, her white socks were donned with two blue stars, symbols of the two weeks she had just spent playing for Team USA in the Pan Am Games.

While in Guadalajara, Mexico, McFarland helped Team USA to a 2-2 record and even set a program record with seven steals in the first game of the tournament. (November 2, 2011, Page 8)
