LEXINGTON, Ky. — Alabama coach Nick Saban has to be wishing late season trades were available in the college game like they are in the NFL.
If they were, it’s hard not to think he wouldn’t come after Ole Miss junior Bryson Rose, who is the hottest kicker in the college game.
Ole Miss may not be producing a lot positive results on the field this season, but the native of Raleigh, N.C., has been completely the opposite. He continued his exceptional season by making two more field goals Saturday against Kentucky at Commonwealth Stadium.
Rose, who connected on kicks of 31 and 37 yards in the first quarter, has now made 17 consecutive field goals dating back to last season, which is one make away from the all-time record in the Southeastern Conference and longest streak in the nation. The key, Rose said, is not thinking about the streak when he goes out to kick. (November 7, 2011, Page 1B)
