OPD investigates robbery

The Oxford Police Department investigated the robbery of the Cash Advance business on West Jackson Avenue on Monday afternoon.

According to Chief Mike Martin, the suspect, described as a black male, entered Cash Advance at about 1:30 p.m. Monday and demanded cash. The robber did not present a weapon, but implied he had one. A cashier gave him an unknown amount of cash and he fled the scene toward Oxford Square Apartments.

For awhile on Monday afternoon, officers shut down and blocked off the apartment complex as they searched for the suspect. You’ll find more details on the robbery in Tuesday’s edition of The EAGLE. (November 21, 2011)
