Ole Miss women dominate Lady Lions

Ole Miss’ victory at UMass on Friday went down to the wire.

Tuesday’s game against Arkansas-Pine Bluff did not.

The Lady Rebels dominated the Lady Lions in nearly every statistical category en route to an 83-52 victory at the C.M. “Tad” Smith Coliseum.

After trading a few baskets with the Lady Lions of the SWAC early on, Ole Miss pieced together a 25-5 run to earn a 41-12 lead and never trailed.

While the Lady Rebels (5-1 overall) shot a respectable 39.5 percent from the field on the night, it was their hustle on defense that stood out to head coach Renee Ladner.

Ole Miss led in every major category including rebounds (59-42), steals (17-8) and blocks (5-1), and used their defensive hustle to score 24 fast-break points and 26 points off of turnovers. (November 30, 2011, Page 9)
