New-look Rebels host ULM Warhawks

Ole Miss Rebel men’s basketball team will look to start its season off on a good foot with a win over Louisiana-Monroe tonight at C.M. “Tad” Smith Coliseum. Ole Miss defeated North Alabama 91-62 in its lone exhibition game on Nov. 3. In that contest, Ole Miss had several new faces make contributions, while veterans, such as senior Terrance Henry, had positive contributions as well.

Overall Ole Miss returns six lettermen and three starters from a team that finished 20-14 and played in the NIT last year. Louisiana-Monroe finished the 2010-11 season with a 7-24 overall mark. The Warhawks return nine lettermen and three starters from that team.

The Rebels are 13-4 all-time against ULM, including an 11-2 mark in Oxford. Ole Miss has won the last 10 meetings including a 94-70 win over ULM in 2007, the last time the two schools met.

Ole Miss is 76-25 all-time in season openers and have won seven in a row. (November 11, 2011, Page 6A)
