An armed gunman robbed the Abbeville Bank this morning, making off with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies were dispatched at 8:19 a.m. to Abbeville Bank where witnesses said two men approached the bank, but only one went inside. Investigator Scott Mills said the man who entered in the bank was armed with a gun and demanded cash from the employees inside the bank.
The gunman is described as a black male, about 5-foot, 7- to 10-inches tall with a medium build, wearing dark clothes, possibly coveralls, Mills said. No description is available for the suspect who remained outside of the bank.
Both suspects are still on the loose. Anyone with information should call the LCSD at 234-6421. (November 29, 2011, Page 1)
