AMORY — Lafayette coach Anthony Hart and his staff had a plan coming into Friday night’s MHSAA Class 4A North Half title game: Don’t change anything the Commodores have done all year to get to this point.
Staying true to what Lafayette does best and utilizing the immense amount of talent on the roster served Hart well in a 35-7 win over the Panthers.
The top-ranked Commodores advanced to Jackson to play for their third straight 4A title by limiting the high-powered Panthers and quarterback Forest Williams by executing at a high level on defense. LHS (15-0 overall) consistently pressured Williams in the win and held him well under his season’s passing average. (November 28, 2011, Page 1B)
