Oxford’s quest to secure a spot in the upcoming Class 5A playoffs was dealt a setback Friday night at Bobby Holcomb Field. Despite an inspired effort, one coach Johnny Hill said would have won games at New Hope and against Hernando at home, the Chargers lost 31-21 to West Point. Now the Chargers have to defeat Clarksdale in the regular season finale on Friday at home to even have a chance of making the postseason. (October 31, 2011, Page 3B)
