Lafayette’s quest for its first state volleyball title officially gets underway tonight in Madison with its Class I first-round matchup against St. Joseph Catholic School.
The Lady Bruins (29-5-1) head into tonight’s match fresh off of a 3-0 sweep of Northwest Rankin that capped a 16-match winning streak to conclude their regular season.
During their streak, which began after St. Joe lost to Lake Cormorant 2-1 in the Tupelo Tournament in late August, the Lady Bruins only dropped four sets. (October 4, 2011, Page 6)
