The Lafayette ninth-grade football team ended its season with a 14-0 win over New Albany on Monday. John Murphree scored on a 12-yard run, while brother Eli Murphree added a 2-point conversion to give Lafayette an 8-0 lead at the half. Hunter Bishop scored on an 80-yard touchdown reception in the second half off a throw from Eli Murphree. Landon Busby and Eli Murphree both had interceptions. Lafayette ended the year with a 6-2 overall record. (October 18, 2011, Page 8)
