‘Dores open Region 2-4A schedule with shutout

No matter what the situation — playing up a classification, against a county rival, across state lines, homecoming — the Lafayette Commodores’ football program continues to win.

And in dominating fashion.

LHS rolled to its 23rd consecutive victory, while opening up region play, with a convincing 42-0 win over the Lewisburg Patriots at William L. Buford Stadium Friday on Homecoming night for the ‘Dores.

The Commodores (7-0 overall, 1-0 in Region 2-4A) have been getting off to a fast start in ballgames lately and it was no different Friday night as senior running back Demarkous Dennis scored on runs of 7 and 33 yards in the opening quarter en route to a 35-0 halftime lead. (October 3, 2011, Page 1B)
