Two seasons ago Camp was a team manager for the Blue Devils. This year though, he has emerged as a playmaker and it showed Friday night in his 84-yard game-winning touchdown catch to knock off Bruce 20-19 at Trojan Field.
Down 19-14 with a little over four minutes to go in the game, the Blue Devils came back to a play that they had run several times earlier in the contest with four wide receivers spread out and Camp running a post down the middle of the field.
The safety had been letting Camp run by uncovered all night and the Blue Devils finally made him pay when quarterback E.J. Bounds found Camp wide open for the go-ahead touchdown. (September 12, 2011, Page 5B)
