Scott’s all-around effort leads Rebels to win

Heading into Saturday’s game against Southern Illinois, Ole Miss had plenty of questions surrounding its team.

Some were answered.

Some verdicts are yet to be determined.

One question that was emphatically answered was could Jeff Scott shoulder the load at running back without the likes of Brandon Bolden and Enrique Davis.

During the Rebels’ 42-24 victory over the Salukis at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, the sophomore collected 118 yards and three touchdowns on 16 carries.

He also returned a punt 67 yards down Ole Miss’ sideline for his third touchdown of the game to put the Rebels ahead 21-0 early in the first quarter. (September 12, 2011, Page 1B)
